REORGANISING MANUFACTURING WORKFLOW USING LEAN SIX SIGMA

The assigned company's technicians  take around 33.7 hours to complete the Poseidon holder product, while the standard time allotted for the product is 10.8 hours which amounts to 212% more than the standard time resulting in lost opportunity cost of $ 22,900 per product. We conducted a time study analysis to bring down the excess time taken by the technician to ±10% of standard time of the product in the next 2 months.

PREDICTION FASHION TREND USING RUNWAY IMAGES

Trend forecasting is a challenging job and need precise prediction of the color, pattern and style. As a result, researchers are now applying machine learning and predictive models to predict the trend. Fashion runways are considered important events by high street and fast
fashion retailers. These events inspire them to design and develop different styles for the mass people. This research presented an approach to predict pattern and outfit based on the images collected from New York fashion week Fall/Winter 2019, using logistic regression. The results predicted the patterns that could be used by retailers in the coming season for the mass market consumers. However, it could not predict outfit as function of color as there was no relationship between these two variables.

COMPARATIVE STUDY OF EFFLUENTS COLLECTED FROM WOVEN FABRIC MANUFACTURING AND DENIM WASHING INDUSTRIES

Supervised undergraduate students to complete their research project on industry. The results showed that effluent collected from woven fabric manufacturing industry is more harmful to environment than denim washing plants, as the proportion of chemicals, additives and solvents used in the first one was much higher than that of the later.
